Administrator

Administration- "the performance of executive duties." 

 

I Peter 5: 1-4 "To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder...Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, serving as overseers--not because you must but because you are willing , as God wants you to be; not greedy for money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock."

​

Administration is an important role in pastoral leadership.  It helps maintain organization, but also moves a ministry idea from being just a simple idea to a plan and then on to execution.  It is vital to ministry in terms of both growth, spiritual development, and discipleship.

 

However, this is not to suggest a dictatorial style of leadership. I believe that good administration follows  a "servant leader" model that engages its members in the visioning, planning, and execution of ministry within its local context.  I have sought to exercise administration from a servant leaders heart.  Here are several ministry events in which I've found opportunity to express this competency:

2015 

​

  • Lead a team of Sabbath School Teachers for Primary 1 Sabbath School

​

  • Assisted with the planning and execution of church socials and Easter events.

​

  • Began writing: There is Life After Divorce: Discover the  Hope Bible Study.

2016 

 

  • Assisted with the launch of a Cardio-fitness exercise class.

​

  • Planned and executed a  Children's Skate Party

​

  • East Hamilton Ministerial                 Association Board Member

​

  • Completed There is Life After Divorce: Discover the   Hope Bible Study and launched a  pilot group for review and improvement.

​

  •  Launched the Family  Ministries Department

​

  • Collaborated with SAU Psychology Dept. to enlist Counseling Students as Co-Facilitators for Small Groups 

​

2017

 

  • Organized  and collaborated            with First Things First, a  local non-profit        organization, to host  the  "Awesome, AmazingMind- Blowing, Marriage" Valentine's  event @ CCC.

​

  •  Planned and executed a   Family Bowling Party

​

  •  Recruited and trained     members as facilitators   of Small Groups.

​

  •  Organized Singles   Ministry 

        Interest Meeting.​ 

​

  •  Served on Search     Committee for GCC VP      Administration/Secretary

​​

            

2018 

 

  • Won Second Place in Southern Union's  Innovative Outreach Project for Life After Divorce Divorce Recovery Bible Study                              

  • Planned and lead a team through the execution of a Mad About Marriage   event with Mike Tucker of  Faith for Today.

​

  • Lead a subsequent team of facilitators in the  facilitation of Mad About Marriage and other small groups.

​

  • Planned and executed a Family Ministries "Thank You Brunch" for Family Ministries Small Group Facilitators.​

​

  •  Served on the CCC     Building Project             Committee.

​

  •  Managed Family   Ministry budget 2016   to present.

​
