Teacher- "the performance of executive duties."
Mentor- "a trusted counselor or guide"
Titus 2:7-8- "Show yourself in all respects to be a odel of good works, and in your teaching show inegrity, dignity, and sound speech..."
During my time at Collegedale Community Church I've been taught and mentored by my senior pastor, Pastor Jerry Arnold. I have also had other mentors along the way. Because they poured into my life, I have also been able to pour into the lives of others. Pastor Jerry has encouraged me to find my niche in ministry which lead to the establishment of the Family Ministries department at Collegedale Community. He has mentored our staff on sermon preparation during weekly "Thinking Like a Preacher" meetings. I've found these meetings to be thought-provoking and helpful in my own personal sermon preparation

My opportunities for teaching and mentoring have been in teaching baptismal studies, teaching the Primary 2 Sabbath School Class, teaching through drama during VBS, and by facilitating adult small groups. In addition, I've collaborated with Southern Adventist University's Psychology department to allow counseling students to serve as co-facilitators for our small groups. This collaboration serves as a mentorship to young adults in helping them prepare for their careers in counseling.
